Michael is a Partner at Matrix Partners China. Previously, Michael worked at WI Harper from 2002 to 2008, where after joining as an investment analyst, he grew with the Company over the subsequent six years.

Michael brings to Matrix Partners China a very strong analytical skillset, and he played an instrumental role in WI Harper’s investment in Focus Media in 2004, working with David Zhang. Michael has been ranked by Zero2IPO as one of the top 10 rising stars of China’s Venture Capital Industry in 2006. Within Matrix Partners China, Michael is heavily involved with BabyTree, Anjuke, Baofeng, and Conew. With respect to WI Harper, Michael was responsible for investments in Focus Media, Pollex, and Troodon.

Michael was born in China and holds a masters in technological economics and management and a bachelors in management of information systems from Tsinghua University.

Michael is primarily responsible for Internet, wireless, and digital media sectors.

Michael enjoys spending his free time watching movies as well as building radio controlled models.
