Fang Yuan is a partner in Matrix Partners China, and was heavily involved in the investment in Huakang Financial. Yuan has over 10 years of experience in private placement and investment banking. Prior to joining Matrix Partners China and WI Harper, Yuan was CFO of China Broad Media Corporation, where he led the Series B venture capital financing of the company, which was led by SAIF (Softbank Asia Infrastructure Fund). He also helped to streamline the company’s business strategy and assisted the Board in recruiting the new management team. Before China Broad Media, Yuan worked with SK China Holding Co. Ltd. as an Investment Director where he conducted investments in the Internet, telecom, healthcare and energy services sectors. Prior to SK, Yuan served as a VP Corporate Development at eNet Internet Technologies Co. Ltd., CFO at INFOSEC Technologies Corporation, and started his career as analyst with BNP Paribas in France respectively.

Yuan brings to the company years of corporate investment experience as well as a balanced background through his different roles in investment banking and operations.

Yuan was born in China and holds a Masters degree from College Des Ingenieurs in Paris and an MBA and a BS from Tsinghua University.

Yuan is primarily responsible for cleantech, financial services and education sectors.
